Notes for Carl Sevier HALE:

Memories: Grandpa Hale was quite and individual. His biggest Hobby was
his hunting and raising Beagals. Boy I'll never forget the time I was
determend that he was not going to put them dogs in his trunk to take
hunting. Mind you the trunk was lined with a bear skin rug one large
breathing hole for fresh air and food dishes just for the car. Well I
told him if the dogs were going to ride in there so was I so he put me in
and shut the trunk, back out of the drive and then let me out. Funny
thing I never complained about them there dogs riding in that trunk
again. I can still here him telling me not to let them dogs out of the
dog pen cause them dogs are for hunting not playing.....I always enjoyed
hunting with Grandpa and can remember the first time I shot a gun and my
first time using chewing tobacco. He always called it spit black and this
particular hunting trip I finally talked him into letting me try it I was
about 12 years old I think. Anyway I took a little pinch and chewd for a
bit the swallowed. To this day I will never touch that stuff
again..........

I can remember going over there for a weekend and Gramp's would tell
Grandma we were going to the Bank. Well the Bank was actually Tip Top
Bar. He'd take me in there sit me down with a cold bottle of pop and a
bag of chips. Don't remember what we'd talk about but it was fun. Mom and
Dad never new about this little bit of fun we were having till my Dad
decides one day to go to the Bank and boy did I want to go badly. Was I
ever surprised when he pulled up to Fraser State Bank. I told him this
wasn't the same Bank Grandpa took me to boy was he surprised. Anyway I
took about 2 months but ole' Gramps started taking me again.
